hey, my name is courtney and i have a friend in prison who i write to frequently, and speak with on occasion, when he can call. unlike most penpals, i did know him prior to his arrest for quite some time and i miss him terribly. i look forward to being able to hear from all of you about your situations - it's not a situation you can easily talk with people about normally, so it's good tohave an outlet. thanks! courtney

actually, i'm not quite sure at the moment, i haven't heard from him in about two weeks. i know he broke his finger playing football a while back and hasn't been able to write as a result (but still managed to send me out a card a couple weeks ago). i worry, because the last time I hadn't heard from him in a while, he ended up in the hole for a long time. but the last i heard he was doing alright. told me a horrible story about having to go to the hospital for his finger and being ankle and wrist shackled for longer than a day (the hospital he had to go to was in some other part of the state - lots of driving and waiting). anybody writing to someone at mansfield correctional institution in ohio?

Courtney Hello is there anyway you can call to see if he is ok . get a message for him to call you ? I am not sure if anyone is writing to inmates in mansfield correctional institution in Ohio, is that wear your friend is ? I know tow guys in Chillicothe Ohio , Lebanon, Ohio

i'm not sure, i've called before and they've been quite rude and unhelpful to me. i think i'll just give it some time, he has strength i didn't even know possible - sometimes i think i worry too much. i wrote a revew for a movie related to prison and such - i hope it results in some more signatures for the petition to save the life of stanley tookie williams, so i hope you don't mind if i post it: http://blog.myspace.com/vlu77 who do you write to? and how are they doing?
